Seeks expedite of work, job for land donars, engagement of local youth, construction of hostels at Central University Of Kashmir Ganderbal (CUK)

Delhi October, 30: Jammu Kashmir United Movement President (JKUM) and former Member of Legislative Assembly (Ex-MLA) Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Wednesday met Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi to discuss the development of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK).

Ishfaq Jabbar’s demands focused on expediting the construction of the Central University of Kashmir, providing jobs to farmers who donated land for the project, ensuring locals are employed in Category III and IV outsourced posts and construction of hostels for students.

During the meeting, Jabbar, according to his statement issued here, urged Education Minister, GOI Shri Dharmendra Pradhan to expedite the work on Central University of Kashmir at the designated site TullaMulla Ganderbal. Ishfaq Jabbar emphasized the need to speed up the construction process to provide quality education to the students.

Sheikh Ishfaq requested Education Minister, GOI that farmers who donated land for the construction of university be given employment opportunities as promised by the Government.

Jabbar stressed the importance of hiring locals for Category III and IV outsourced posts to boost the regional economy.

He also demanded the construction of hostels for students to provide adequate accommodation and facilities.

During the meeting, Jabbar emphasized the need for expedited action regarding the university’s growth and progress. He highlighted the importance of enhancing educational infrastructure and resources to better serve the students and the community. Both parties acknowledged the pivotal role that CUK plays in the region and expressed a commitment to advancing its objectives efficiently.

The Education Minister assured full support to him and early redressal of all the genuine issues and demands projected by him and urged him to continue his endeavours for the growth and advancement of his area, on all fronts. “We are determined to ensure the equitable and fast-paced development of J&K and the growth and prosperity of its people,” he said.

As a former MLA from Ganderbal, Ishfaq Jabbar has been vocal about regional development and education. His party, JKUM, aims to address the unique challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. By meeting with Minister Pradhan, Jabbar hopes to bring attention to these critical issues and drive positive change in the region.
