The NITI Aayog conducted a research study on “Transforming India Vocational Education Ecosystem” with an aim to access India’s Vocational Education Ecosystem focusing on among others ITIs and Polytechnics. In this regard, group discussion under NITI Aayog project on transforming vocational ecosystem was conducted at Government Polytechnic Jammu under the guidance of worthy Director Skill Development Department Sh Om Prakash Bhagat JKAS. All the Principals, faculty and TPOs from Govt./Private Polytechnics, HOIs of Govt./Private ITIs along with representatives from various industries attended the discussion session. The program started with welcome address by Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college who in his address stressed on improving the vocational education skill ecosystem as part of the industry 4.0 and NEP 2020 and bridging the gap between industry and academia. The program featured one-on-one interactions between the Principals, officials of various Govt./Pvt Polytechnics, ITI’s of J&K and senior officials of NITI Aayog. The session had a special focus on the Transforming India’s Vocational Educational Ecosystem so that gap between industry and academia may fill & employment and economy growth increased. The discussion was facilitated by Deloitte team members Sh Arvind Gupta and Fazil Banka. The study will try to identify system’s strength, improvement strategies exploring best practices. The organising committee comprises of Er. Jasdeep Kour HoD I&C, Er. Sanam Gupta Lecturer Mechanical Engg., Er Amit Gupta Lecturer Civil Engineering, Ar. Manu Rajput Demonstrator Arch. Asstt, Er. Rakesh Khullar and Er. Paramjot Singh.
